Autumn Wedding at Spiez Castle on Lake Thun
Spiez Castle has a very special atmosphere in autumn. The light becomes softer, the colors warmer, and the castle feels calm and clear during this season. Tanja and Chris celebrated their wedding at Spiez Castle in the Thun region, surrounded by a relaxed atmosphere and plenty of space for genuine moments.
The groom arrived by boat, a subtle and atmospheric start to the day. Spiez Castle is one of my favorite wedding venues around Lake Thun. Elegant without feeling formal, full of character, and especially beautiful in autumn.
The church ceremony took place in the castle chapel, a space I personally appreciate a lot. The tones of gray, cream, and sand feel timeless and understated, and they photograph beautifully even in softer light.
Tanja wore a simple, off-the-shoulder satin gown by THOMAS by Chosen by Kyha with a leg slit. Dresses like this work extremely well on a wedding day. They allow movement, feel elegant, and remain comfortable throughout many hours.
After the ceremony, the celebration continued at the castle. Sunglasses, champagne sprays, a Bentley for the drive ahead, and a relaxed group portrait captured the spirit of the day perfectly. This balance of style and ease is what makes weddings at Spiez Castle so enjoyable to document.
In the evening, the celebration moved on to Hotel Moosegg in the Emmental region. Known not only for its sunsets but also for its excellent cuisine and professional team, Moosegg offered beautiful light for relaxed sunset portraits. The day ended with a fire show and a sparkler exit.
Autumn weddings have a special appeal to me. The light is softer, temperatures are more pleasant, and the overall atmosphere feels calmer than during the summer months. This sense of ease naturally reflects in the photographs.
